هذا الكتاب هو من إعداد أستاذان لهما باع طويل في مجال تدريس الرياضيات في الجامعات الليبية. وفيه يتعرضان لموضوع "التفاضل والتكامل" وذلك عبر تقديمها لدراسة مفصلة تدور حول هذا الموضوع تحديداً وحول مواضيع أخرى تعتبر أساساً لا بد من الاعتماد عليه لشرح نظريات التفاضل والتكامل. أما منهجهما المتبع في عرض المواضيع فيرتكز على منهج اشتقاق القانون أو الصيغة، ثم تفصيل كيفية استخدام ذلك في شكل أمثلة محلولة، هذا وقسّم المؤلفان كتابهما على جزئين، صمما الأول لتغطية مقررات الفصلين الأول والثاني (السنة الدراسية الأولى) للكليات الجامعية التالية: العلوم الأساسية، الهندسة، الزراعة، الصيدلة، والكليات الأخرى التي تدرس بها مادة التفاضل والتكامل بما في ذلك المعاهد المهنية. أما الجزء الثاني فصمماه لتغطية مقررات الفصل الثالث والرابع (السنة الثانية) للكليات والمعاهد المذكورة أعلاه.
