مؤلفة وأيبة وكاتبة سويدية من أبرز كتاب قصص الأطفال خلال القرن العشرين لها علامتها المميزة على أدب الأطفال في العالم ، تم تصنيفها كالكاتبة الثامنة عشرة بالعالم من حيث كثرة عدد أعمالها،المترجمة.
كانت بصمتها الخاصة في أدب الطفل في أنها استطاعت التعبير عن تطلعات الطفل البرىء، ورغبته في التخلص من الكبت والقمع الذي نورس عليه باسم التربية والأخلاق.
ولدت استريد لندجرين في 14 نوفمبر 1907بمدينة فيمربيجنوب السويد،نشأت في بيئة تقدر القراءة لذلك تعرفت مبكرا على القصص والروايات الخيالية، أشهر قصصها بيبي ذات الجوارب الطويلة كلنا أطفال في برلين المفتش بلومكفيست ميو مني ميو كارلسون على السطح وبلغ إجمالى أعمالها 84 كتابا للأطفال وحوالى40 نصا سينمائيا،

"في بلاد الغسق" مختاراتٌ قصصيَّةٌ قصصيَّةٌ تتضمَّنُ عشر حكايات كلاسيكيةٌ لسيدة الحكايا السويدية أستريد ليندجرين، اشهر وأهم كاتبة أطفالٍ في العالم في القرن العشرين.
هنا، في هذه المختارات، يعيشُ القارئ مع أبطال الحكايات الصغار في "بلاد الغَسَق"، جارة الواقع السويديُ بحُلوهِ ومُرِّهِ، حيثُ أزقِّةُ المُدُنِ وشوارِعُها، وبيوتُها وغاباتُ الأريافِ ومُروجُها وجداولُها هي ذاتُها، لكن الدُّنيا فيها سوى الدُّنيا: دُنيا استمدَّت سحرَها من جُموحِ خيالِ أستريد ليندجرين من جهة ومن سعةِ إطلاعها على موروثِ الحكايات في العالَم من جهةِ أخرى.
وقد كتَبَتْ، في حينهِ، الناقدة جريتا بولين في صحيفة "سفَنسكا داجبلادَت" تقول عنها: "في اللحظةِ ذاتها التي خَلقَتْ فيها (ليندجرين) قصصَها، حَلَّقَتْ عبقَريَّةُ القصِّ حولَها فكانَ هذا الكتابُ المُمتلئ بالشِّعر والسِّحر، بالطرافةِ والجدِّيَّة، لقد حصل الصِّغارُ على حكواتيَّة جديدة".
