هذا الكتاب يكشفُ عن قدرة اللغة السرديّة الفنّيّة في طرح قضايا فلسفيّة ودلاليّة ولغويّة ودينيّة، وعن قيمة الصورة والمعنى في هذه اللغة وعن طرق اشتغالهما في إنتاج الدلالات، وذلك بكلّ امتداداتهما الفلسفيّة والدلاليّة واللغويّة والدينيّة وصولاً إلى بناء نظريّات علميّة لكلّ مفهوم من تلك المفاهيم عند العرب وغير العرب.
يقدّم معرفة عميقة بقوانين اللغة، فضلاً عن أنّه يقدّم تفكيراً منطقيّاً يختصر النظريّة الثلاثيّة للعلامة (الممثِّل / الدال – الموضوع – المؤوِّل / المدلول)، والتي تقوم على تصنيف الأنساق الدلاليّة في ثلاث مقولات هي الأوّلانيّة والثانيانيِّة والثالثانيّة تأسيساً على الفانيروسكوبيّة (Panéroscopie) أي الظاهراتيّة التي عمل بورس Peirce على إدراكها وتحديدها إنطلاقاً من أقسام الفانيرون، وهو كلّ ما يمكن أن يوجد في ذهن الإنسان.
يؤسّس لمستوى بليغ من حيث المعرفة والإستدلال؛ فإدراك كلّ ما يشكّل ثقافة، أي إدراك العلامات (حقيقيّة أو تخييليّة) وتحديد مواضعها وتفاعلاتها وتطويعها وتأويلها، وكذلك إدراك كلّ الممارسات (سواء أكانت ذات طابع تداوليّ أم عرفي أم حسّيّ)، هو الذي يمكّننا من بلوغ المعنى والدلالة.
يتناول موضوعاً جديداً، فعلى الرغم من كثرة الدراسات حول الرواية العربيّة والسيميائيّات السرديّة، فإنّ هذه الدراسات لم تتناول قضيّة اللغة السرديّة وتشكيل الصورة والمعنى، ولم تبحث في أنظمة العلامات البورسيّة.
يتمايز بمنهجيّة علميّة تأخذ بأدوات معرفيّة وتنظيميّة وتطبيقيّة، وبإضافات تجعل الكتاب مرجعاً نقدياً يمكن أن يفيد منه الباحثون العرب وغير العرب.
يهدف إلى بلورة منهج نقديّ تأويليّ تتداخل فيه السرديّة (علم السرد)، الأداة المثنى لخلق عوالم سيميائيّة، مع السيمياء (علم العلامات) الذي يتناول أنظمة العلامات بالنظر إلى أسس دلالتها وكيفيّة تفسيرها بغية تمثيل هذه الصّور والمعاني سرديّاً.
