ان الحمد الله نحمده ونستعينه ونستغفره ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا وسيئات أعمالنا ، من يهده الله فهو المهتد ومن يضلل فما له من هاد أما بعد فهذا "كتاب الحيدة" وهو يحكي مناظرة ذات منهج علمي رصين انتجه علماء السلف لدحض أهواء المبتدعين الخائضين في دين الله بمؤازرة إبليس، ومناصرة أهل الباطل، ولكن كان الحق لهم بالمرصاد، فخذلوا وخيبت آمالهم وطاحت أحلامهم ، وهذه المناظرة- وإن تكلم بعض العلماء في وقوعها ممن عدمه- تمثل انموذجا رائعا يحتذى به كل عالم بل كل طالب للحق يعترضه من شبه أهل الباطل- وما أكثرها - أن يصدع بالحق ويصرع الشبهات بالحجج والبينات- ولا يحول بينه وبين ذلك حائل حتى يعلنها مدوية- انتصارا لمنهج السلف - وليذهب مذهب أهل الباطل أدراج الرياح. وقد نقل شيخ الإسلام - ابن تيمية رحمه الله تعالى- من هذا الكتاب أكثره منسوبا إلى مؤلفه ، وذلك في كتابه العظيم "درء تعارض العقل مع النقل" ونسبه أيضا إلى مؤلفه جمع غفير من العلماء كابن النديم وابن حجر وابن السبكي وغيرهم
