لهذه الرسالة اللطيفة جملة من المزايا نلخصها فيما يأتي:
أ-أن واضعها أحد علماء المالكية المتأخرين، الذين يندر عنهم –في الغالب- التحقيق أو الإنصاف، فضلاً عن تمييز الأدلة أو تمحيص الراجح من الأقوال عند الاختلاف. فإدلاء المسناوي وهو مالكي بدلوه في مثل هذه المسألة، دليل على جرأته في الحق، ونصرته للدين.
ب-حسن اختيار المؤلف لموضوع بحثه، وهو القبض في الصلاة، في مذهب مالك ثم عند أتباعه من الفقهاء، وذلك لما وصم بها ذلك شعاراً للمالكية، وترسخ ذلك عندنا في المغرب عند العامة، وزاد في تفشيه وتثبيته عمل الخاصة، أعني المشايخ المقلدين، الذين أصبح عملهم عند الناس حجة في الدين!
ج-ما أودعه صاحب الرسالة من بحث فقهي بديع، وتأصيل رائع، بناهما على الدليل، وهو مع ذلك لم يحد عن نهج المحققين، ولم يجنح عنا هو راجح عند المالكيين، فأعطى المقام حقه، وأفاض في هذا الباب، وساق من أنواع الأدلة ما تقر به عين كل منصف، يبتغي الصواب.
د-وقد وفق هذا الفقيه في بيان الحكم الفصل في المسألة، والقول الصواب، والذي عليه المحققون من أعيان المذهب، عملاً بما ثبت من النصوص الصحيحة عن صاحب الشريعة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وهو مذهب الجمهور
