أما بعد:
فقد كتبتُ في الترجماتِ الإنكليزية وبداياتها وتأريخها وأبرز من كَتب وأول من كتب كل ذلك أوردته في كتابي الموسوم (درة الزمان في الترجمات الإنكليزية لمعاني القرآن)، ولقد راودني سؤال في ذلك الحين لماذا ترجموا القرآن الكريم إلى اللغات الأوربية ولم يترجموا الأنجيل إلى العربيةِ ولم يترجموا حوليات البابا التي تُصدرها الكنيسة، فذهبت إلى كتب التأريخ أبحث عن نشأةِ الحروبِ الصليبيةِ وما قبلها ولماذا اختاروا المشرقَ ولم يذهبوا إلى أسبانيا وهو الأولى بهم؟...
ولماذا خرجت خمسة جيوش من فرنسا خصوصاً ولماذا أعلن البابا أوربان الثاني بدء الحروب الصليبية من فرنسا خصوصاً وليس من روما مهد الفاتيكان ورمز المسيحية العالمية؟...
ولماذا لم تشترك الكنيسة الرومانية القديمة (بيزنطة) (الآرثذوكسية) في الشرق في الحرب الصليبية بل إكتفت بدور المتفرج وربما قامت بقتال بعض الجيوش الصليبية.
