وبناءً عليه، هذا الكتاب في سبعة فصول وملحقين كبيرين مهمين لإستكمال الفائدة المرجوة، وهي كالتالي: الفصل الأول: "تحديد المشكلة وأبعادها"، الفصل الثاني: "القراءة والكتابة وجهان لشيء واحد"، الفصل الثالث: "طبيعة الحرف العربي"، الفصل الرابع: "أسباب المشكلة"، الفصل الخامس: "الحلول المقترحة"، الفصل السادس: "التأصيل اللغوي"، الفصل السابع: "دور العوامل الخارجية في التأصيل اللغوي ومسؤولياتها".
