في خضم هذه التحولات التي تميزت بميل بارز نحو عولمة الاقتصاد لجأت بعض الدول إلى إقامة تكتلات اقتصادية فيما بينها، وذلك من أجل المنافسة وفرض الوجود في المجتمع الدولي ومواجهة مختلف التحديات أهمها تحدي العولمة الاقتصادية، ومن خلال معالجتنا لموضوع بحثنا يتم الإجابة على الأسئلة المطروحة مع اختبار صحة الفرضيات المقترحة، هذا ما جعلنا نخصص خمسة فصول وفصل تمهيدي لدراسة هذا الموضوع،فتطرقنا في الفصل التمهيدي إلى الإطار النظري للتكامل الاقتصادي في ثلاث مباحث.
أما الفصل الأول: تطرقنا فيه إلى مختلف تجارب التكتلات الاقتصادية الإقليمية الرائدة في العالم في أربعة مباحث، تناولنا في الأول ماهية التكتلات الاقتصادية الإقليمية، أما الثانى والثالث والرابع عرضنا فيه أهم التجارب كتجربة الاتحاد الأوربى ومنطقة التجارة الحرة لأمريكا الشمالية "النافتا" ومنتدى التعاون الاقتصادي لأسيا والمحيط الباسيفيكي "ابيكـ" على التوالي، وفي الفصل الثاني: حاولنا معرفة العلاقة التي تربط التكتلات الاقتصادية بأهم التحولات الراهنة وذلك في الأول إلى العولمة الاقتصادية، وفي الثاني إلى المنظمة العالمية للتجارة، وفي الثالث إلى علاقة التكتلات الاقتصادية بالعولمة ومنظمة التجارة العالمية مع إبراز أهم أثارها على بعض الجوانب الاقتصادية، أما الفصل الثالث: تطرقنا فيه إلى الواقع الاقتصادي والتنموي للدول النامية في ظل التكتلات الاقتصادية وذلك في ثلاث مباحث، تناولنا فيه الدول النامية بين حتمية الاندماج في الاقتصاد العالمي والتكتلات الإقليمية، وفي الفصل الرابع: تطرقنا لأهم تجارب التكامل الاقتصادى الفاعلة في الدول النامية في ثلاث مباحث، عرضنا في الأول تجربة السوق المشتركة لشرق وجنوب إفريقيا "الكوميسا"، وفي الثاني عرضنا تجربة رابطة دول جنوب شرق آسيا، وفي الثالث عرضنا فيه منطقة التجارة الحرة العربية الكبرى، أما الفصل الخامس: حاولنا فيه تقييم تجارب التكامل الاقتصادي في الدول النامية مع ضرورة تفعيلها، وذلك في مبحثين، المبحث الأول قيمنا فيه مختلف تلك التجارب، والمبحث الثاني حاولنا فيه رسم ملامح استراتيجيه لتفعيل التكامل الاقتصادي في الدول النامية إلى أن توصلنا في الأخير إلى خاتمة تضمنت مجموعة من النتائج والتوصيات.
