"عشرون عاماً مع عارف النكدي" كتاب (مذكرات) من إعداد شفيق يحي وغادة الشعار يحي، يسلط الضوء على مرحلة النهضة التربوية والإجتماعية التي قادها عارف النكدي ابتداءً من العام 1931 بإعادة إحياء المدرسة الداودية في عبيه وتوسيعها، وافتتاح مدارس ملحقة بها في عدد من القرى ابتداءً من العام 1938 ومن ثمّ إنشاء بيت اليتيم الدرزي عام 1940 بعد أن مهّد لإنشائه في أواسط الثلاثينيات.
لا يقتصر الكتاب على تاريخ النهضة الدرزية التريوية والإجتماعية، وإنما يمتد ليضع أمام القارىء مذكرات فندي الشعار مع عارف النكدي في حياتهما السابقة. إن مذكرات فندي الشعار مع عارف النكدي طوال عشرين سنة هي جزء من تاريخ مرحلة لا تزال حاضرة في الأذهان، تؤرخ لذلك الزمن الجميل ورجالاته الذين أغنوا الساحة اللبنانية بالعلم والعطاء والمزيد من المعارف، فجاءت هذه المذكرات لتبرز جزءاً كبيراً من تاريخ الداودية ومسيرة عارف النكدي التي ما زالت مستمرة في بيت اليتيم الدرزي بنجاح وازدهار بفضل القائمين عليها، وثقة المحسنين بهم وإيمانهم بدورها الإجتماعي والإنساني والتربوي.
وعليه تمتد المرحلة التي يشملها الكتاب من عام 1932 حتى العام 1952 وتجمع مقالات فندي الشعار وأشعاره ومقالات عارف النكدي ومحاضراته ومخطوطاته وقد توزعت في الكتاب على ثماني فصول نذكر من عناوينها: سيرة عارف النكدي، سيرة شكيب النكدي، لمحة تاريخية عن الداودية، المشاريع التي أنجزها النكدي، حكاية تطور الأوقاف، مدرسة ينطا النموذجية، رسالة جورج مصروعة إلى فندي الشعار (...) وعناوين أخرى ذات صلة.
