شكلت الحركات الاجتجاجية في العالم العربي صدمة فاجأت أوساط الإنتاجات المعرفية البحثية التي وقفت فترة من الوقت موقف الحيرة أمام مواجهة صلاحية أدواتها ومناهجها التي استخدمت فيما سبق في دراسة المجتمعات العربية وفهمها.
فهذه المجتمعات كثيرا ما اعتبرت راكدة وعصية على التغيير بسبب من ضعف، بل من غياب إحساس شعوبها بالحاجة إلى الديمقراطية وما تنطوي عليه من مبادئ ومعايير وآليات خاصة بالتمثيل السياسي والرقابة والمحاسبة، أي أنها اعتبرت مجتمعات استثنائية تعهدها عسف سلطة استبدادية على مدى قرون. إلا أن ما جرى شكل بالفعا صدمة تداركها الباحثون قبل أن يتنبأ بها البحث العلمي ووضع الباحثين أمام مجموعة من التساؤلات: هل ما جرى يشكل خطة طريق نحو الديمقراطية؟ من هم الفاعلون الجدد وما هي أدواتهم؟ هل يمكن الحديث عن ظهور فاعلين جدد مثل الشباب القادرين على تجاوز خطوط الصدع الأيديولوجي والمذهبي والعرقي؟ ما هي الدوافع السياسية والاجتماعية لنشوء هذه الانتفاضات؟ ما هي خريطة القوى الفاعلة في هذه الانتفاضات؟ ما دور المؤسسة العسكرية؟ وما هو أثر الإعلام بشقيه المرئي والإلكتروني في الحراك؟ ما هو دور الحركات الإسلامية في الانتفاضات؟ وهل نحن في صدد تكون حقبة ما بعد الإسلامية، على النحو الذي اقترحه آصف بيات وروي أوليفر؟ ما هو دور المرأة؟ ما هي منظومة المفردات المستجدّة في توصيف الحراك في الغرب من ضمنها الخطاب الإعلامي؟ ما هي المقاربة السوسيولوجية الغربية لهذا الحراك؟
مجموعة من الأسئلة البحثية، تحاول ورشة العمل هذه أن تجد أجوبة علمية لها من خلال أبحاثها المقترحة، لتنقشع الرؤية المعرفية في موضوع الحراك القائم.
