أنور محمود زناتي ولد في 20 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 1971 بالقاهرة، كاتب وأكاديمي مصري في مجال التاريخ والحضارة. ويعمل بجامعة عين شمس له كتابات متعددة في مجالات مختلفة مثل صدام الحضارات والاستشراق والإسلام، وتهويد القدس. حائز على جائزة الأستاذ الدكتور عبد الحميد العبادي من الجمعية التاريخية 2005 م، وجائزة الإبداع من السويد 2008 م وعضو الهيئة الاستشارية في دورية كان التاريخية المحكمة ومؤسس الجمعية التاريخية لشباب الباحثين

إن كتابة البحث العلمى والرسالة الجامعية علم وفن فى آن واحد وهو وجه من وجوه النشاط الأكاديمى المعقدة التى يمارسها راغبو العلم، بأسلوب منهجى من أجل إثراء المعرفة البشرية بدراسات جادة وجديدة قدر المستطاع وذلك باتباع المنهجية العلمية وتقنياتها، والعالم يعيش اليوم فى حالة سباق محموم لاكتساب أكبر قدر ممكن من المعرفة الدقيقة المستمدة من العلوم التى تقوم إلى التقدم والرقى والأزدهار، ومن أسف أن حظ الدول النامية بوجه عام ، والدول العربية بوجه خاص من البحث العلمى يسير للغاية، وإقبالها عليه ضئيل جداً. ولذلك التخطيط وصناعة القرارات ضعية إن لم تكن غائبة كلية فى هذه الدول. ومن هنا تأتى أهمية توسيع دائرة العلم والبحث فيه فى بلادنا وبما يتبعه ذلك من منهجيات وأساليب للبحث فى المستقبل.
