Book Description
سيدي أبو عزات تجاوز التسعين، يجلس على كرسيه المربع القصير القوائم المصنوع من القش أمام دكانه الفارغ إلا من بضائع قديمة تفوح منها رائحة العفن. منذ إغلاق البلدة القديمة لم تدخل الدكان قدم مشتر. انغلق الرزق عن دكان أشبع بطوناً منذ امتهنت العائلة البيع قبل ثمانين عاماً. عمل جدي فيه صغيراً ثم ورثه شاباً. يجلس منذ ثلاث سنوات أمام دكانه خشية استيلاء المستوطنين على ميراث أبيه. ويحمل مسبحة بتسع وتسعين خرزة، تداعبها أصابعها النهار كله. أرسل له القهوة والشاي والغداء إلى الدكان مع أحفاده. يغفو كثيراً ثم يصحو على صوت مؤذن الحرم الإبراهيمي القريب من دكانه المعطل. لا يترك الدكان قبل التأكد من أن مستوطني "الدبوية وكريات أربع" الذين يأتون لهز رؤوسهم وشتم المسلمين قد تركوا المكان وذهبوا إلى مبيتهم. عمله اليومي دربه على الموت قبل الموت. لا يشكو تعب الجلوس، ولا أطفال المستوطنين الذين يمطرونه بزقا ولعنا إن مروا من أمامه. يتلقى وابل المذلات بإحساس ميت، ما دام جلوسه يغيظهم. لا يستفز دمعه إلا أرقام يقرأ فيها أعواماً طويلة من الضياع: مئتا مستوطن في قلب يستطيعون منه صبي يعتمر نصف قبعة من التبول في وجه ختيار هرم يعتمر كوفية.
