سنحاول في صفحات هذه الدراسة الإستقصائية أن نلم - قدر ما تسمح به ظروفنا - بجوانب متتابعة من حركة السيد محمد بحر العلوم كما أشرنا آنفاً، وقد تجمعت العديد من العناوين التي تندرج تحت العنوان العام للكتاب.
وقد رتبنا العناوين وحسب "ثلاثية الأبعاد الزمانية المكانية الظرفية"، ضمن فصول تخصص كل فصل منها بتناول جانبٍ من جوانب حياة العلامة الراحل السيد محمد بحر العلوم.
وهكذا ترتبت عندنا عشرة فصول يكمل بعضها بعضاً لتغطي مساحة مهمة من حياة الراحل، وكان من الضروري التقديم لهذه الفصول بمقدمة لتكون بمثابة مدخل الكتاب، وهكذا تدرجت الفصول ليكون الفصل الأول عبارة عن جولة مع ابن النجف، وتناول الفصل الثاني بدايات النضال والعمل، فيما راح الفصل الثالث يسلط الضوء على هجرته من العراق.
في الفصل الرابع من الكتاب كان التركيز على تغيرات المعادلة الدولية، أما الفصل الخامس فخصص للمتغيرات الكبرى في الألفية الثالثة وتصاعد النضال لا سيما بعد أحداث الحادي عشر من أيلول، وسنوات ما قبل سقوط صدام.
وتناولنا في الفصل السادس محوراً مهماً من محاور العمل وهو مؤسسة معهد الدراسات العربية والإسلامية في لندن، وتعامل الفصل السابع مع الأيام الأولى من سقوط الطاغوت ورحلة العودة والرجوع للوطن عبر الكويت، وقد تقصى الفصل الثامن جوانب من الذكريات حول هذا المجلس، وكان الفصل التاسع المعنون ببحر العلوم وتقويم مرحلة، هو المكان المناسب لعرض هذا المحور.
وأخيراً فقد اهتم الفصل العاشر بالتعامل مع الراحل بحر العلوم بصفته إنسان كانت له الكثير من المشاعر والأحاسيس والمعاناة التي انتهت في هه الأرض برحلته منها إلى عالم آخر ككل الأحياء، الإنتقال إلى عالم الآخرة الذي نسير كلنا إليه بخطى حثيثة.
