هذه رسالة موجزة أراد بها "محمد عثمان جمال" الحديث عن الفتنة السوداء التي تسمى بثورة الزنج، والتي كانت حلقة من حلقات التآمر على الإسلام، أسالت من دماء المسلمين أنهاراً، ولا تشبهها: إلا فتنة خروج القرامطة التي حدثت معها في المئة الثالثة: حيث سلبوا وقتلوا وسفكوا وأغاروا على الكوفة وبغداد ودمشق، حتى وصلوا إلى مكة المكرمة فقتلوا الحجيج في المسجد الحرام. وسيرى القارئ الكريم من خلال هذه الصفحات أنه من ظلم الحقيقة أن يعتبر البعض هذه الفتنة ثورة عروبة ضد الظلم والفساد وهي ثورة قتل وسفك وتخريب وتدمير، وأن يرى فيها البعض وميضاً من نور هي ظلمات بعضها فوق بعض، وأن يزعم البعض أنها ثورة عربية وهي أعجمية زنجية غريبة، وسيدرك القارئ أيضاً أية إهانة للعلم يقترفها من يظهر هؤلاء المجرمين السفاكين بمظهر المصلحين الأبرياء فيلبس هؤلاء الفجرة اللصوص لباس الأتقياء الطاهرين المظلومين، إذاً ستترجم هذه الصفحات مع القصيدة المرفقة في خاتمة الكتاب "رثاء البصرة" ترجمة صادقة عن حقيقة الزنج، وعن حقيقة أعمالهم، وستصور هول الفضائح التي ارتكبوها، والجرائم التي اقترفوها، والمصائب التي جروها على البلاد والعباد، مدة تزيد على أربعة عشرة عاماً، ذهب ضحيتها الألوف المؤلفة من الأسر المسلمة برجالها ونسائها وأطفالها، وعلى البلاد الإسلامية ببيوتها وأنديتها وجوامعها، وعلى الحضارة الإسلامية بما فيها من مدنية وفنون وعلوم وعلماء...
