لما كانت الدعوة إلى الإسلام تعني: (الدعوة إلى اعتناقه عقيدة وشريعة، ونظام حياة، وذلك على جميع المستويات، وفي مختلف الميادين) وليست كما يتوهمها البعض: دعوة جزئية أو جانبية، تدعو إلى فضيلة خاصة، أو خلق معين، كما أنها ليست قاصرة على مجرد انتساب المرء إلى جمعية من الجمعيات، أو جماعة من الجماعات. ولما كان مفهوم البصائر الدعوية أشمل من أن يكون قاصراً على بصائر في منهج أو أسلوب أو وسيلة اختار المؤلف أن يجعل حديثه في هذا الكتاب عن "البصائر الدعوية" متناولاً جوانب عديدة من هذه البصائر من ذلك: أولاً: بصائر في جانب العقيدة، ثانياً: بصائر في جانب العبادة، ثالثاً: بصائر في جانب أصول الدعوة ومصادرها، رابعاً: بصائر في جانب منهج الدعوة وأسلوبها، خامساً: بصائر في جانب وسائل الدعوة، سادساً: بصائر في جانب معالجة العقبات والمشكلات في طريق الدعوة. كل ذلك تناوله المؤلف بالبحث والإيضاح؛ مبيناً أن هذه البصائر لا تكون صحيحة؛ إلا إذا كانت مأخوذة ومستوحاة من كتاب الله تعالى، وسنة وسيرة رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ومنسجمة مع سيرة الخلفاء الراشدين الهادين المهديين، والعلماء العاملين، والدعاة الربانيين الذين أُمرنا باتباع سنتهم والاقتداء بهديهم. كما أنها لا تكون كذلك إلا بقدر التفهم للواقع الذي تراد فيه الدعوة إلى الله والتبصر بأحوال المدعوين لهذا الإسلام...
