سارة خبئي كفيك عنهن، عن القدر، عن الأيام التي تريد أن تغتالك وأنتِ تحبين الحياة، خبئيها بين لفائف الورق، بين أشجار الياسمين، خبئيها في السماء هناك وراء الغيوم، خبئيها بعيداً عن تلك الأيدي المسمومة التي تمتد نحوك، لا تفتحيها اقبضيها طويلاً على رفات الحلم، عليك، على أمنياتك البيضاء، تتعالى الأصوات مجدداً
(افتحي يدك يا سارة، تتعالى الزغاريد أيضاً، يتعالى التصفيق ويتعالى معه الألم، تنظر إليَّ نظرة المنكسرة التي ترنو للخلاص بأي حيلة أو طريقة، إنها نظرة النجد الأخيرة، لتنزل معجزة من السماء تغير مسار القصة، الأصوات تتعالى أكثر افتحي يدك افتحي يدك، إن خضبت سارة يديها انتهى كل شيء بما في ذلك الأمل، وما إن همت بفتحها بهدوء اليائس من بهجة الحياة وزينتها، حتى ثار ما بداخلي من حرقة وأسى جامح، وصرخت لاااا، كانت لا قوية كأنها زئير أسد، أو هدير موج قادم من بعيد ليغرق السفن، كانت لا مدوية كصوت انفجار، أو بركان ثائر من التلهب والحمم، لا كرعد ينوء عن صاعقة لا مطر، لا كبيرة، ثائرة، جامحة، مندفعة، لا لا ورميت بقدح الحناء على الأرض سحبتني زوجة أبي مضاوي هذا ضرب من الجنون، فيما قامت إحداهن تجمع ما تناثر من القدح وتعيده إلى مكانه، وكأن شيئاً لم يحدث، التفين حول سارة من جديد هيا افتحيها، افتحيها، سلمت سارة يدها إليهن وهي ترتجف، تنتفض كعصفور خائف، انبسطت يداها الطاهرتان وبدأت الحناء تغزوها، رائحته تملأ المكان بل تعج به، ترتفع أصوات الزغاريد، وأنا واجمة مكاني، ماذا عساني أفعل؟
ها قد وضعت الحناء وإذا وضعت الحناء انتهى فصل الخطاب (وقضي الأمر الذي فيه تستفيان).
