في هذا الكتيب أربعون حديثا جمعها العالم ( زين الدين بن محمد الشافعي) تدور كلها في فلك الصلاة والتسليم على خير الخلق أجمعين سيدنا محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام. وكلها تشرح وتعدد الخير والفائدة التى تعود على المسلم من صلاته على الرسول وقد جاءت على ثمانية أبواب سبقتها مقدمة للتعريف بماهية تلك الصلاة وقد جاء الباب الأول من الرسالة في تضعيف أجر المصلى على الرسول عليه الصلاة والسلام، الباب الثاني في فضل الصلاة ، الثالث في الإكثار من الصلاة، الرابع في طلب الوسيلة له مع الالصلاة ، الخامس في تبليغ الصلاة إلى الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، اما السادس ففي وجوب هذه الصلاة والسابع في كيفية الصلاة واخيرا لباب الثامن في السلام على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم.
