تنطلق هذه الدراسة من الاعتقاد بأنّ مصير أي إنسان يرتبط ارتباطاً وثيقاً بمصير المجتمع الذي يعيش فيه فيتقبّل نظامه وقوانينه. ما لم يرفض الفرد طبيعة النظام الحاكم على مجتمعه ويعبّر عن هذا الرفض بالأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر، فإنّ مصيره سيتحدّد وفق ما سيؤول إليه المجتمع نفسه؛ وذلك بناءً على قوانين وسنن إلهيّة محكمة. فالرضا القلبيّ والعمليّ بأوضاع المجتمع يدخل الراضي في سياقٍ لا تنفعه معه كلّ الأعمال الصالحة والجيّدة مهما عظُمت. وهذا ما تشير إليه الرّواية المعروفة حول قوم شعيب حيث يقول الإمام عليه السلام: " وَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى شُعَيْبٍ النَّبِيِّ (ص) أَنِّي مُعَذِّبٌ مِنْ قَوْمِكَ مِائَةَ أَلْفٍ أَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفاً مِنْ شِرَارِهِمْ وَسِتِّينَ أَلْفاً مِنْ خِيَارِهِمْ، فَقَالَ (ع): يَا رَبِّ هَؤُلَاءِ الْأَشْرَارُ فَمَا بَالُ الْأَخْيَارِ؟ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَيْهِ دَاهَنُوا أَهْلَ الْمَعَاصِي وَلَمْ يَغْضَبُوا لِغَضَبِي". فكأنه غريق يجرفه التيار العاتي، لا تزيده كثرة الحركة إلا إنهاكاً ونصباً! هذا، ويحفل القرآن الكريم بالنّصوص الواضحة التي تبيّن طبيعة الأثر المتعاظم والأخرويّ للمجتمعات والأمم على أفرادها وأبنائها.
