وقد تناول السرد.. مدخل تاريخي للعبة أو الرياضة- للغالبية- وكيفية انتشارها، وتأسيس اتحادها، وتاريخها الأوليمبي إن وجد.. وتعريف لها.. وكيفية ممارستها.. وتفاصيل فنية دقيقة كمواصفات ومقاييس الملاعب والحلبات وأماكن الممارسة المختلفة لها، وأدوات اللعبة المستخدمة، وعدد لاعبي الفريق، وملابسهم، وكيفية الفوز ومعاييره، وأهم القواعد والقوانين والإجراءات والملامح التي تحكم وتنظم وتميز هذه اللعبة أو الرياضة.. وكل هذا.. موضح بصور ورسومات.. تعدى الألف وستمائة صورة ورسمة.. فهي بذلك تعد أول موسوعة رياضية عربية مصورة.
ورغم الاهتمام بالدقة العلمية، والتناول الأكاديمي في نقل التفاصيل الفنية الرياضية.. إلا أنه روعى.. سهولة الصياغة، والاختصار غير المخل بالمحتوى العلمي (اللعبة من 2: 8 صفحات).. حتى يتلاءم ذلك مع كافة طوائف المجتمع.. ولا يمل عزيزنا القارئ.
لذا.. فإنه يشرفني إضافة ذلك الجهد المتواضع للمكتبة الرياضية العربية.. آملًا لهذا الجهد أن يضيف جديدًا، ويزيد من الدوافع للمعرفة وللثقافة الرياضية.
