هذا الكتاب يُقدّمُ مقاربةً مهمّةً تُسلَّطُ الضوءَ على بُعدي "الذاكرةِ والمتخيّلِ" المركزيين المُهيمنين في العقلِ الإنسانيّ ومكوناتهِ وملكاتهِ وانطولوجيا أحلامهِ وأوهامهِ وذاته الهائمة، عبر أكوانٍ متنوّعةٍ من الصورِ التي تنتسبُ إمّا إلى الذاكرةِ في زمنٍ خطّيٍّ يبدأ من ماضٍ حافلٍ بالتجارب المنصرمةِ في ذكرياتِ الطفولةِ بشغبِها وأحلامِها وأماكنِ ألفتِها وعوالمِها البعيدةِ وإما إلى صورِ عالمٍ حاضرٍ يندفعُ فيها العقلُ إلى إنتاجِ لحظتهِ المتخيّلةِ التي قد لا تستندُ إلى الذاكرةِ، ولا تقومُ على قاعدةِ مماثلةٍ للصورةِ الأصلِ المحفوظة، فتبدأ من حاضرٍ لتتصل بالمستقبلِ، ولـربّما التـقى الاثـنـان فأصبحتْ الصورةُ محمولةً مـن ذاكرةٍ ماضيةٍ، تُنتجُ متخيّلاً حاضراً يرنو نحو مستقبلٍ قادمٍ.
يقفُ الفيلسوفُ والناقدُ الفرنسيّ غاستون باشلار في رؤيتهِ التأويليّة باهتمامٍ على هذين البُعدين "الذاكرة والمتخيّل" رؤية يربطُها بالخيالِ الإنسانيّ وملكاتهِ، وتكوينِ الصورِ بناءً على قاعدةٍ ظاهراتيّةٍ تخوضُ في بعضِ تحليلاتِها بمـا سمّـاه باشـلار بسيـكولوجيا الأعماق.
جاءَ هذا الكتاب مُتتبعاً معالم نظريّتهِ التأويليّة ليقول شيئاً جديداً عن فيلسوفِ العلمِ الشهيرِ عبر مقاربةٍ مختلفةٍ تربطُ هذين البعدين المركزيين وتُحيلُ الصورَ الحُلميّة المتخيّلة إلى ممكناتٍ أنطولوجيّةٍ في ضوءِ تأويليّةٍ باشلاريّةٍ، ومن هنا تكونُ مزيّة هذا الكتاب.
