تتحدث هذه الرواية عن نقلات إنسان عادي من حياة عادية مليئة بالتعلق والأوهام، إلى حياة الحُبّ والبهجة الإستثنائية، وحياة الروح بين يدي المعلم الرباني.
لم يكن بطل الرواية هادي يعلم أنها سنّة الله تعالى في الكون أن يعرف الإنسان شيئاً ثم ينساه ثم يمرّ عبر الصعاب والمشقات من أجل إستعادته، نعم إنه شيء موجود معنا دائماً، ولكننا نختار أن نبحث ونبحث، حتى إذا ما أنهكنا البحث واستسلمنا، وجدناه معنا منذ أن كنا أطفالاً صغاراً حديثي العهد بالله.
كان هادي يحتاج إلى الكثير كي يعي مثل هذا الكلام، فما بالك أن يصل إليه، وما كان يدري أنّ كلّ موقف، بل كلّ لحظة في الحياة ستُعلّمه دروساً ثمينة ينضج ويرتفع بروحه من خلالها، ثمّ ستستخدمه يد الله كي يُعلّمها، ويُنير بها درب أناس أعياهم المرض، ودرب أناس تاهوا في البحث عن النور، كان لا بُدّ من أن يسير هادي في رحلته الحياتية ويفهم تعلقاته وينتهي منها، ويتعلّم من خلال تجاربه، وكم كانت تجارب مريرة!.
كانت خلاصة رحلة هادي مع التعلقات أنّ الحبّ الحقيقي يجب أن يكون للإله، وأنه يجب أن يُحبّ كلّ الأشياء من خلال الإله؛ فإذا اختلّ هذا الميزان، أتت ظروف الحياة لتجعل الإنسان يُعاني من مشاكل ومواقف وامراض تُشير له إلى موضوع تعلقه، فإذا انتبه وعاد إلى حضن الإله أنعم الله عليه بالشيء أو الشخص الذي يتعلّق به مع الرضا والإستمرارية، وإذا لم ينتبه إلى إشارات الحياة وبقي مُتعلقاً بالشيء أو الشخص، على الرغم من المشاكل والعقبات التي تدلّه على ضرورة فكّ تعلقه، يحلّ الفصل النهائي في القصة ويخسر الإنسان ما تعلّق به، ويفقده إلى الأبد.
تتحدث الرواية عن البرامج المعلوماتية وإنتقالها عبر الأجيال وتفعيلها وتعزيزها، أو إضعاف تأثيرها السلبي، في إرتباط مع أخلاق الإنسان وسلوكياته ووعيه ودرجة نضوجه الروحي، تشرح الرواية مستويات التعلّق بالغذاء والملذات الجنسية والمنزل والملكية والمال، والتعلق بالعلاقة مع الإنسان القريب وحُبّه، وكلّ ما يرتبط بالعمل والمكانة في المجتمع، والتعلق بالقدرات والصفات الروحية والحكمة والصبر، والتعلّق بالروحانيات، بطريقة قصصية مشوقة.
