مضى على إصدار الطبعة العربية الأولى لكتاب "المرجع في الفيزياء" الذي قام بتأليفه الدكتور بوريس يافورسكي أحد كبار الخبراء في مجال الفيزياء النظرية والبصريات، بالاشتراك مع اندريه ديتلاف المتخصص في الفيزياء الحرارية، زهاء أربعة عشر عاماً، تطور خلالها علم الفيزياء بشكل عام بوتائر سريعة وبخاصة فرع الفيزياء، فظهرت في العالم محطات نووية جديدة وأجرت دراسات حديثة في المخترات على الأرض وفي الفضاء. كل ذلك حث المؤلفين على إجراء تعديلات وإدخال مواد جديدة في المرجع. وهذه الطبعة التي بين أيدينا تختلف عن سابقتها في وجود عناوين ثانوية داخل كل بند من بنود المرجع واستخدمت الجملة (النظام) الدولية في تقييم المقادير الفيزيائية. ومن ضمن الإضافات في المرجع باب فيزياء النواة الذرية والجسيمات الأولية. هذا فإن الطبعة العربية هذه تعتبر طبعة معدلة ومنقحة ويمكن اعتبارها مرجعاً جديداً في الفيزياء يفيد الطلاب العرب والمهندسين وطلبة الجامعات والمعاهد العلمية والهندسية ومدرسي المدارس العليا والمتوسطة وسائر المهتمين بموضوع الفيزياء، وبالرجوع إلى مضمون هذا المرجع نجد أنه ينقسم إلى جزئين، يحتوي الأول منهما على تعريفات المفاهيم الأساسية لعلم الفيزياء، كما يقدم صياغة مختصرة لقوانينه وشرحاً موجزاً لكافة الظواهر الفيزيائية شاملاً فروع الفيزياء المتعلقة بالميكانيكا والديناميكا السوائل والغازات والكهرباء المغنطيسية. أما الجزء الثاني من المرجع فيحتوي على صياغة مختصرة للقوانين الفيزيائية الخاصة بالظواهر الموجبة، بما في ذلك السمعيات والبصريات، وكذلك قوانين الفيزياء الذرية والنووية.
