نشأت مجموعة البنك العالمي الهادفة لتديم التنمية فى الدول المختلفة. ومن خلال دراستنا لمجموعة البنك العالمي سنتابع نشاطها، لمعرفة مدى نجاحها ومستوى فعالية نشاطها في سبيل تنمية دول العالم الثالث، والنتائج التي حققتها، وهل كان لانشاء البنك للمؤسسة والهيئة دور في تدعيم نشاطه التنموي أم ان دورهما كان محدودا؟. وماهى آليات ونظم البنك العالمي فى مجال منح القروض؟، وهل كانت هذه القروض فى متناول الدول الفقيرة، وماتأثير هذه القروض على اقتصاديات هذه الدولة؟ كما نتابع سياسة التكييف الهيكلي التى دعا اليها البنك العالمي ونتبين عواقبها على الدول النامية، ثم دراسة سياسة البك فى خوصصة القطاع العام. الى غيرها من القضايا والتي من خلالها نخلص فى الاخير لتقييم دور مجموعة البنك العالمي من خلال مسيرتها الطويلة فى مجال التنمية وسنتناول هذه الدراسة فى فصلين: الفصل الأول نتعرض فيه لنشأة مجموعة البنك العالمي وأغراضها وآلياتها فى مجال منخ القروض، وفصل ثان نقم فيه نشاط المجموعة ودورها فى مجال التنمية ثم نخلص الى خاتمة ونعرض فيها النتائج المتوصل اليها من خلال هذا البحث.
