يتناول هذا الكتاب حياة أناس عاشوا، ولا يزال أحفادهم يعيشون، على هذه الأرض، كما يبيّن جانباً من بشاعة الإحتلال الصهيوني الذي أدّى إلى تفكيك أوصال المجتمع العربي الفلسطيني، وإلى القضاء على إحدى مظاهر التنوّع المجتمعي من خلال إجتثاث مجاميع بدوية كثيرة عاشت على تلك الأرض منذ مئات السنين.
لا يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى التفاخر بالأحساب أو الطعن في الأنساب، فهذا من أمر الجاهلية والشوفينية المنغلقة والمتعصبة، كما لا يهدف إلى إثبات فرضية ما، أو إلغائها، وإنما يهدف في المقام الأول إلى الحفاظ على الذاكرة الجمعية والوطنية وتعميق الإنتماء إلى الأرض وإستنهاض مخزون القيم والروح الجماعية القائمة على التعاون والأخوة والمحبة.
هذا الكتاب محاولة لتسجيل حياة أناس لم تكن قد سادت بينهم روح: "أكره أخاك الشقيق وجارك القريب والبعيد"، كما هو حال المجتمعات الحالية التي فقدت روحها وإنسانيتها وهويتها.
لقد أصبحت هذه الروح الجديدة تغذّي المعارك الصغيرة والكبيرة بين الأفراد كما بين الدول، وقد لاحظتُ أن هذه الروح ما زالت متجذّرة في نفوس الأجيال الشابة من خلال ما ينشر في وسائل الإعلام، فقد حدث أني نشرت على أحد المواقع على الإنترنت جزءاً من هذا الكتاب قبل طباعته، لكن أيادٍ كثيرة امتدّت إليه بالتعديل والعبث والتشويه والإساءة والإدعاء.
