يتناول الباحث في هذا الكتاب مشوار جماعة الإخوان المسلمين السياسى أو بالأخص علاقتهم بالبرلمان وإنتخاباته، بدءاً من الأربعينيات وحتى عام 2005 قام الباحث ( مختار قاسم) بدراسة البرنامج السياسى للإخوان المسلمين وتطوراتهم على امتداد هذه الحقب الزمنية مسقطاً من حساباته الفترات التى ثم عزلهم فيها عن المشاركة السياسية والإنتخابية وأهمها الفترة الناصرية. كذلك يناقش أفكارهم وشعاراتهم و علاقتهم بالشعب المصرى.. مسلمين ومسيحيين. وأخيراً يرى الباحث الحل الصحيح هو دمج هذه الجماعة فى النخبة السياسية فتتعامل وفقاً لأصول العلمية السياسية وعدم عزلها خارج حلية المنافسة.
