هذا شرح يسير، سهل قريب، على نظم (فتح المجيد في قراءة حمزة من القصيد)، الذي هو من نظم العلامة الشيخ محمد بن أحمد الشهير بالمتولي- رحمه الله تعالى- بسطت فيه الكلام، بأسلوب مفهوم، ولغة واضحة، من غير حشو ولا تعقيد، وسميته: "إتحاف المريد بشرح فتح المجيد" قدمته بترجمة للناظم- رحمه الله تعالى- وكذلك لحمزة وراوييه.
واستندت في كتابة هذا الشرح إلى عدد من كتب القراءات كـ: "النشر" لابن الجزري، و"القراءات العشر" للحصري، و"الإضاءة" للضباع، وعدد من شروح الشاطبية كـ: "سراج القارئ المبتدئ" لابن القاصح، و"إرشاد المريد" للضباع، و"الوافي" لعبد الفتاج القاضي- رحم الله الجميع-، وكذلك بعض كتب التوجيهات والتحريرات، كـ: "الحجة" لابن خالويه، و"الكشف" لمكي، و"مختصر بلوغ الأمنية" للضباع، وبعض كتب التفاسير كـ: "فتح القدير" للشوكاني، وغيره.
