عنيت في الطبعة الثالثة إلحاق ما سطره المؤلف رحمه الله بالطبعتين الأولى والثانية، وأضفت أحكام محكمة النقض ومواد قانون الإثبات الحالي ومواد مشروع قانون الإثبات في المواد المدنية والتجارية طبقًا لأحكام الشريعة الإسلامية الذي اعتمدت المذكرة الإيضاحية لأغلب مواده اعتمادًا كبيرًا على الطبعة الأولى من هذا المصنف.
والقواعد التي انتظمها هذا المؤلف هي قواعد الإثبات الموضوعية المتصلة بذات الدليل- كبيان الشروط الموضوعية اللازمة لصحة وبيان قوته وأثره القانوني- والتي تخضع في مواد الأحول الشخصية للشريعة الإسلامية، وكذا إجراءات الدليل وإجراءات الإثبات وغيرها من الشروط الشكلية والتي تخضع الآن لقانون المرافعات والإثبات.
وقد عنيت في هذه الطبعة الرابعة إضافة ما تعلق بالموضوعات من أحكام المحكمة الدستورية العليا، والحديث من أحكام محكمة النقض حتى إعدادها للطبع. وكذا التعليق على مواد القانون رقم 1 لسنة 2000 بإصدار قانون تنظيم بعض أوضاع وإجراءات التقاضي في مسائل الأحوال الشخصية، ما يتعلق منها بالولاية على النفس وما يتعلق بنظر الدعاوى وإجراءاتها، وكذا دعوى الخلع.
كما عنيت أيضًا بالتعليق على القانون رقم 3 لسنة 1996 بشأن تنظيم إجراءات مباشرة دعوى الحسبة في مسائل الأحوال الشخصية، وأفردت بحثًا مستفيضًا عن الحقوق التي ترفع بها الدعوى حسبة وإجراءات هذه الدعوى أمام النيابة العامة والمحاكم على اختلاف درجاتها. كما أدرجت بالكتاب مشروع قانون محاكم الأسرة ومذكرته الإيضاحية وتعليق على المشروع.
