مللت العمل بائعاً متجولاً، فقررت أن أجرب حظى في صيد الصقور، كنت جالساً، في سفح هضبة التيه، أراقب الطيور، رأيت طائر أم غرير، ألقيت نحوه بحجر، طار قليلاً، ثم عاد يتقافز على رجل واحدة، تركته وقلبت نظري في الفراغ المحيط بي، رأيت البدوي قادماً وهي معه، الكاميرا التي تتدلى على صدرها، جعلتني أعتقد انها سائحة. ولكنني لم أبذل كثير جهد، حتى تبينت أن غاليت، تطوف الصحراء الممتدة على مرمى البصر، تمارس هوايتها في التصوير.
