بين يدينا كتاب "إجتماع الجيوش الإسلامية على غزو المعطلة والجهمية" للإمام ابن قيّم الجوزية، والجهمية هم أتباع الجهم بن صفوان الترمذي، الذي قال بالجبر والإضطرار وأنكر الإستطاعات كلها، وزعم أن الجنة والنار تفنيان، وأن الإيمان هو المعرفة بالله سبحانه وتعالى فقط، وأن الكفر هو الجهل، ولا فعل ولا عمل لأحد غير الله عزّ وجلّ، وسمّوا الجهمية أيضاً بالمعطلة، وقد أجمع المسلمون وجميع الفرق على تكفير الجهمية.
والإمام ابن القيّم في هذا الكتاب يردّ على الجهمية في الكثير من مقولاتهم، إستناداً إلى نصوص من القرآن الكريم، والحديث النبوي، وأقوال الصحابة والتابعين وأتباع التابعين، وأئمة المذاهب الإسلامية، والمحدثين والفلاسفة والصوفيين والشعراء.
وقد خرج المحقق جميع الأحاديث النبوية على كتب الحديث المعتبرة.
