كتاب تشنيف المسامع بجمع الجوامع، هو شرح كتاب جمع الجوامع لتاج الدين السبكي الذي صنفه في أصول الفقه وقد اشتمل على مقدمات وسبعة أبواب. حيث ذكر في المقدمات تعريف الأصول والفقه، والحكم الشرعي وأقسامه والمسائل المتعلقة بكل ركن من أركانه: الحكم، والمحكم عليه، والمحكوم به. وأما بالنسبة للأبواب وما جاء فيها فقد تكلم في الباب الأول عن القرآن الكريم، ثم تناول القراءات السبع، ثم الألفاظ والمنطوق، والمفهوم، والعام، والخاص، والجمل والمبين، والناسخ والمنسوخ. وتكلم في الباب الثاني عن السنة وتقسيمها، والأخبار وتقسيمها، والصحابي. والباب الثالث تحدث فيه عن الإجماع، وعن القياس تحدث في الباب الرابع، وجاء الباب الخامس في استدلال الأدلة التي هي ليست بنص، ولا إجماع ولا قياس، كالاستقراء والاستصحاب وقول الصحابي، والاستحسان وغير ذلك مما اختلف فيه. وجاء الباب السادس في التعاديل والتراجيح بين الأدلة عند تعارضها، والأمور التي يحصل بها الترجيح عند التعارض، ثم تكلم عن المجتهد وشروط الاجتهاد، ثم المقلد في الفروع والأصول ثم ختم "جمع الجوامع" بخاتمة صوفية. وقد التزم الزركشي من خلال شرحه بالأبواب والموضوعات الواردة في متن جمع الجوامع التي بيناه ولكنه حلّل ألفاظه، وبيّن مقاصده، وفك رموزه، ووضع عليه تعليقات نافعة، وإيضاحات هامة، وأورد الآيات والأحاديث، وأقوال علماء الأصول. وقد أتت هذه الطبعة محققة زادت من نفع هذا الكتاب.
