حين أنظر في المرآة أثناء الحلاقة، أتعرف في وجهي على أحد الأقارب البعيدين، ابن عمي، أو لنقل، عمين أو على الأغلب والدة جدتي، يمكنني أن أكون توأماً مزيفاً، من الأم نفسها ولكن من أبوين مختلفين، هذا الشيء ممكن من الناحية التقنية، وإن يكن سوف يسيء إلى والدتنا، ولكن، يوجد في كل تلك الأمور غير المتوقعة، صدفة عابرة، أكثر أو أقل... ما وجه الغرابة؟...
يمكن للتوائم المزيفة أن تتشابه، توأمان يشبهان حبتي العنب، لا أحد يمكنه أن يُفرقهما، كما تقول الأغنية، أو يمكنهما أن يكون مختلفين مثل الليل والنهار، وهذا الأمر له علاقة بالظروف الفيزيولوجية التي لا أعرفها جيداً، ولكن الليل والنهار مع ذلك يشكلان وحدة متكاملة تتألف من أربع وعشرين ساعة.
توأمي يشبهني، ولا يشبهني، الخطوط الأساسية لكل منا متشابهة في المرآة بشكل لا يدع مجالاً للشك، ولكن حياتنا بعد ذلك تبدوان كما لو أنهما أتعجنتا عند أحدنا باليد اليمنى، وعند الثاني باليد اليسرى، حين أتطلع في ذلك الوجه، يراودني شعور غريب، كأني غير مناسب لذاتي.
هذا المشهد يجعلني أتجمد قليلاً ولكن ذلك ليس بسبب كيفية إختلافنا، وإنما بالطريقة التي نتشابه فيها، يكفي القليل، تُخبرني عيناي: هنا إنقاص شيء، وهناك إضافة شيء... ومن ثم ينشأ من القاعدة نفسها نموذج جديد مختلف مع خواص ركوب مختلفة، كما لو أن تلك الملامح المتعرجة والمختلفة في المرآة، تُعبرُ عن طبيعة مختلفة متحركة منزاحة، وهذا الأمر يُخيفني.
