اسمه ونشأته
هو الإمام جلال الدين أبو عبد الله محمد بن شهاب الدين أحمد بن كمال الدين محمد بن إبراهيم بن أحمد بن هاشم العباسي الأنصاري المحلّي الأصل - نسبة للمحلة الكبرى من الغربية - القاهري الشافعي. ولد في مستهل شوال سنة إحدى وتسعين وسبعمائة 791 هـ الموافق سنة 1389 م بالقاهرة ونشأ بها فقرأ القرآن وحفظ المتون واشتغل في فنون العلم.

Book Description
يعتبر تفسير الجلالين: جلال الدين المحلي، وجلال الدين السيوطي -رحمهما الله- من أشهر كتب التفسير بالرأي، وقد كان عملهما فيه على النحو التالي، حيث: فسر الإمام جلال الدين المحلي النصف الثاني منه، ومعه سورة الفاتحة. وفسر الإمام جلال الدين السيوطي النصف الأول منه عدا سورة الفاتحة.
ويظهر ذلك من قول السيوطي -رحمه الله- في آخر تفسير سورة الإسراء: "هذا آخر ما كملت به تفسير القرآن الكريم الذي ألفه الشيخ الإمام العالم العلامة المحقق جلال الدين المحلي الشافعي-رضي الله عنه".
وقد سار السيوطي رحمه الله وفق منهج المجلي في تفسيره، من حيث: الاختصار، والدقة، وعدم الاستطراد في تفسير الآيات، مما يشعر وكأن الكتاب كله لمؤلف واحد، ولكن وجب التنبيه بأنه، قد وقع في تفسير بعض المخالفات الخاصة بآيات الأسماء والصفات، حيث نجد فيها بعض الموافقة لأقوال الأشاعرة، أو الجهمية، أو المعتزلة، أو غيرهم. والحق في ذلك -ما عليه أهل السنة والجماعة- إثبات ما أثبته الله لنفسه، وما أثبته له رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم)، بما يليق به سبحانه وتعالى، من غير تشبيه، ولا تأويل، ولا تعطيل، مع اعتقاد عدم مشابهة المخلوق، قال تعالى: "ليس كمثله شئ وهو السميع البصير".
