يهدف كتاب "المدخل إلى علم الحقوق"، كما هو واضح من عنوانه، إلى التمهيد لدراسة هذا العلم، عن طريق تزويد القارئ بمجموعةٍ من المبادئ والأسس القانونية العامة التي لا غنى عنها في دراسة علم الحقوق؛ وعلم الحقوق، شأنه في ذلك شأن سائر العلوم الأخرى، له مصطلحات فنية خاصة به، لا بدّ من معرفتها وتفهّم حقيقتها.
وتدور فكرة هذا الكتاب حول محوري علم الحقوق: أي مجموعة القواعد القانونية (القانون الموضوعي)، والحقوق أو الأوضاع الناجمة عن تطبيق هذه القواعد بالنسبة إلى كل شخص (الحقوق الشخصية)؛ حيث يتناول القسم الأول من الكتاب المحور الأول أي القانون الموضوعي، حيث يعالج فيه مسألة إنشاء القاعدة القانونية؛ ويتناول القسم الثاني من هذا الكتاب المحور الآخر لعلم الحقوق وهو محور الحقوق الشخصية، وهي على أنواع عديدة، إذ أنها تنقسم بشكل عام إلى حقوق سياسية وحقوق مدنية، وتنقسم الطائفة الأخيرة إلى حقوق عامة وحقوق خاصة، وتنقسم هذه الأخيرة بدورها إلى طائفتين: حقوق الأسرة والحقوق المالية. تشمل هذه الطائفة الأخيرة من الحقوق بدورها أنواعاً ثلاثة: الحقوق العينية والحقوق الشخصية والحقوق الأدبية أو المعنوية.
ويقوم هذا الكتاب، بكل دقة ووضوح، بشرح المقومات الأساسية لهذه الحقوق، ويتيح للقارئ فرصة الإطلاع على الإصطلاحات القانونية المعاصرة.
