لقد قمت بدراسة وشرح الكلمات القديمة وأنا أستعرض الشعر العربي في برنامجي الإذاعي "الشعر ديوان العرب" حتى أن ذلك وجد تجاوباً من خلال إذاعته في اللقاء اليومي مع المستمعين الكرام، وكلما وقفت على كلمة قديمة يعتقد الكثير من الناس أنها من أصل غير عربي مثل كلمة سير، وجمعها سيور وهي الشريحة الجلدية على شكل الخيط هذه وردت في الشعر الجاهلي بكثرة ولقد أوقفني مرة الأستاذ الدكتور صالح العجيري الفلكي المعروف وردد على مسامعي كثيراً من الكلمات التي سمعها من خلال البرنامج وشجعني على نشرها في كتاب مستقل وغيره الكثير والكثير، لهذا قمت بكتابة هذا الموضوع وإذاعته، ولهذا أيضاً قمت في تقصي الكلمات المهملة في لهجتنا ولها أصول عربية لكي أرفعها ولكي تتسع دائرة الفصحى في اللغة واللهجة، وأكرر أنني لا أهدف إلى رفع لواء العامية أو المغالاة نحو لهجة الكويت إن هدفي هو رفع لواء اللغة العربية الفصحى وإظهار ما كان مندثراً منها وذلك لإرجاعه للأصل.. وخدمة اللغة من خلال دراستي للهجة. ولقد تعرضت في مؤلفي (الشعر ديوان العرب) لكثير من ظواهر اللغة كارهاص لهذا الكتاب الذي أرجو أن أكون قد خدمت به لغتي ووطني ليقيني بأن المجامع اللغوية ستستقبله أكرم استقبال.. كما أشارت الجامعة العربية ومجمع اللغة العربية في تشجيع الدراسات اللغوية واللهجات لخدمة اللغة العربية.
