عندما شاهدت راندة الفتاة الإيطالية المصرية السمراء التي لم يكن عمرها قد تجاوز الخامسة عشرة ربيعاً - الطفل الفلسطيني محمد الدرة يقتل أمامها علي شاشة التلفزيون برصاص جندي إسرائيلي... تأثرت بوحشية ما رأت وهي الفتاة الرقيقة ذات الحس الأدبي المرهف .. لم تصدق عينها .. لم تكن تعرف عن القضية الفلسطينية إلا القليل مما ينقله الإعلام الغربي .. لم تصدق أن ما رأت يقع علي مرأى ومسمع العالم كله . حتي سمعت بأذنيها ذاك الجندي يقول متفاخراً : قتلت الابن وتركت الأب حيا حتي يتعذب ... ذهلت وقررت أن تبحث عن الحقيقة ... راحت تسأل والديها وتقرأ في الكتب وتبحر عبر صفحات الإنترنت ... اكتشفت وفهمت الكثير .. وكتبت قصة قصيرة فازت عنها بجائزة أدبية للأطفال في إيطاليا حولتها بطلب من الناشر الإيطالي إلي رواية لاقت إقبالا كبيراً ... فطبعت ثلاث مرات وكتب عنها أكثر من مائة عرض وتعليق ثم بدأت ترجماتها تظهر وبدأت معها الشهرة الدولية والمهاجمات من اللوبي اليهودي الذي لا يريد أن يقرأ العالم أو يري أو يسمع إلا وجهة نظرة وحده ..
