قرأت في القصص والأخبار، وتصفحت السير والآثار فيما وقفت على خبر يتضمن وفاة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على التمام والكمال فيما تقدم منه في حياته، وما أكده من النص في وفاته، وما جرى بين الصحابة من التشاجر والاختلاف بعد وفاته، بل وجدت ذلك في كتب متعددة وروايات متفرقة فأحببت أن أجمعها في كتاب وأؤلفها من تلك الشعاب على ترتيب رائق وسياق حسن لطيف وسميته (التهاب نيران الأحزان ومثير الاكتئاب والأشجان).
