في جديدها الشعري "ملاءات رقيقة في غرفة واحدة" تبدو دارين حوماني متحدة مع الوجع في علائقية خاصة، منطلقة من الذات وإلى الذات، معبرة عن فكرة الغربة الحقيقية، والمتخيلة، لتنسج نصها على منوال "الأنا" وبلغة مشحونة بالدلالات العاطفية العميقة.
من عوالم قصيدة الشاعرة "ورق الصبار" تتساءل الشاعرة:
هل لديّ ما يكفي من الحب / لأنسى ما مرّ وما سيمرّ؟ / هل لديّ من يستنطقني / لأنبش كلّ ما هو دفين؟ / يا لحزني / أخيطُ منه قصائد تدفئني / صرنا متكاملين / نشبه بعضنا الآخر / يفتقدُ أحدنا الآخر / يا له متى ستنتهي / هل حين أنهضُ من حياتي / وأتمشّى صوبَ السماء / كريحٍ تنبشُ كلَّ ما هو ماض / فتدمر الأرض / ثم ترحل دون جدوى ...". وبهذا المعنى تبدو الكتابة نصاً خفيفاً وقريباً من المتلقي العام، وقد نسجت حروفه الشاعرة بحرفية خاصة، وحس فني عميق، وامتلاك واضح لعناصر الشعرية الحديثة.
يضم الكتاب (15) قصيدة نثرية جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "تجمع هائل من الصقيع" ، "قبعة كاهن" ، "أيتها المشوهة" ، "حبذا لو لم تكن" ، "ورق الصبار" ، "ذلك الماضي الذي لن يعود" ، "ذراعان غير مكتملتين" ، "أمي" ، "على طريق المطار" ، "لو أنني صبرت قليلاً" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
