شيخ الإسلام (ابن تيمية) كان رائدًا وفقيهًا له آراءه الجريئة رفضها البعض وأيدها البعض الآخر فكانت مثارًا للخلاف منذ عصره وحتى الآن نظرًا لمكانة الشيخ وأهمية مؤلفاته، التي نختص هنا منها (مقدمة أصول التفسير)... حيث قام الباحث (أحمد سعد إبراهيم عبد الرحمن) بدراسة متأنية لها.. فكانت هي التي حصل بها على درجة الماجستير وهي ذاتها التي يحتويها هذا الكتاب. وقد قام الباحث بتحليلها واستخراج أكبر قدر منها متعلق بعلوم التفسير المختلفة، وقد استخدم فيها منهج التحليل والمقارنة بين رأي شيخ الإسلام (ابن تيمية) وآراء أئمة آخرين، وهو في ذلك لم يفته أن يقوم بعرض النص الأصلي منها في كل النقاط التي ناقشها وعقب عليها.. وقد بذل في هذا من المجهود ما أضفى عليها كثير من الإتقان والتخصص ممثلة إضافة جديدة للمكتبة الإسلامية.
