يحتوي هذا البحث الذي بين أيدينا والمعنون "بنظرية النفس بين أبن سينا والغزالي" على سبعة مباحث ومقدمة وخاتمة: في الفصل الأول تم التعريف بمفهوم النفس وفقاً لما جاء عن ابن سينا والغزالي، وذلك لأن تعريف النفس يمهد للقارئ الدخول في الموضوع، وفي الفصل الثاني تمر عرض البراهين الفلسفية الخاصة بوجود النفس عند كل من ابن سينا والغزالي، أما المبحث الثالث فخصص لموضوع "وحدة النفس" وفيه تم تقديم البراهين التي تؤكد على وحدة النفس وجاء المبحث الرابع ليقدم معالجة لمشكلة القدم والحدوث حول هذا الموضوع، إذ أنه من الموضوعات الجدلية التي در حولها الجدل، كما تم معالجة الصلة بين النفس والبدن عند كل منهما من المبحث الخامس تم توضيح أن الصلة بينهما عرضية، ومن ثم فالنفس لا تفنى بفناء البدن بالموت لأن طبيعتها الجوهرية الروحية مختلفة عنه كل الاختلاف.
وفي المبحث السادس تم معالجة مسألة روحانية النفس بين ابن سينا والغزالين وتم الإشارة إلى الأسباب والدوافع التي دعت ابن سينا والغزالي إلى الاهتمام بروحانية النفس، مثل ظهور بعض النزاعات المادية والمغالية في عصرهما، ثم تم عرض البراهين على روحانية النفس (الجانب البنائي). وفي المبحث السابع والخير والخاص "بمصير النفس" تم عرض البراهين المختلفة على خلود النفس بين ابن سينا والغزالي، وطبيعي أن مسألة خلود الروح، مسألة مؤكدة لا خلاف عليها،،، فمنذ بداية تعريفهما للنفس يؤكدان على ذلك.
أما المسالة البعث الجسدي، فقد تم الإشارة في هذا البحث إلى رأي ابن سينا بصدد هذا الموضع وكيف أنه فكر البعث الجمساني بالبراهين العقلية وتم أيضاً عرض وجهة نظر الغزالي، وكيف أنه أثبت البعث الجسماني بالنصوص القاطعة، وانتهى البحث بعرض لمفهوم السعادة عند كل منهما بشكل موجز لا يخرج البحث عن إطاره الموضوعي.
