ولقد عني علماء الإسلام بالكتابة عن العالم والمتعلّم أو المعلم والتلميذ، وما لهما من حقوق وما عليهما من واجبات، وكتبوا كثيراً عن الصفات التي يجب ان يتحلّى بها كل منهما.

لذلك، كانت هذه الدراسة حول التربية عند الغزالي وابن القيم، وإنتقاء طائفة من آرائهما المبثوثة في مؤلفاتهما، ومواقفهما، من أجل إستجلاء المضامين التربوية المتناثرة، وترتيبها، وتحليلها وبيان أهميتها المعاصرة، وهذه الآراء والأفقكار بحاجة إلى إبراز وتصنيف حتى يمكن الإستفادة منها، ولعلها تسهم في دعم جهود المخططين والباحثين التربويين في هذا العصر.
