في هذا الديوان يعيد "طيب جبار" الإعتبار لقصيدة النثر إذ أنه يعمل وفق نظام تركيبي يعيد تشكيل صور شعرية مبتكرة تجعل القارىء يرى الأشياء المألوفة بطريقة جديدة ومختلفة تماماً عن أي سابق مر به، هذا ما عدا أن الشاعر انشغل بكثافة التعبير التي تبرز بوضوح الدلالات المعنوية للصور.
ما يميز شعرية طيب جبار تلك الصور المبتكرة ذات الإيقاع الحداثي الغير مألوف، حيث يعج الديوان بصور غريبة التركيب لها كثافة تحيلها إلى وميض، فهي صور غير مستهلكة لا تستسلم إلى المسلمات الشعرية التقليدية، ومن تلك الصور: رز القهقهة – مرق العويل – صلاة النميمة – إلقاء القبض على عدم القدرة – الغيمة المقعرة – أسود مقوس – رمادي عريض إلى آخر ذلك من الصور الغرائبية بدءاً من أول نص حتى آخر نص. فكان هذا الديوان بمثابة استكمال لمشروع شعري له تقنياته الخاصة التي ميزت معجم الشاعر وتجربته الخاصة.
في قصيدة بعنوان (أنا أحب) يقول الشاعر: " أنا أحب،/ أن أخفي نفسي/ في الكهف الذي آوى/ مراسيم الوحدة/ أن أسترق السمع إلى/ صوت نبضات قلب الماء/ حين يمتصه التراب/ أنا أحب/ أن أتوضأ .../ برماد موقد الجبل الجديد،/ ألامس ظهر الخشبة،/ حين تحترق ...".
قسم الديوان إلى ثماني عناوين هي: "ثلاث رباعيات خماسية"، "يوميات راعي الهموم" ، "قصائد تلتفت إلى الأمام" ، " يا وردتي لا ترحلي" ، "مرة أخرى أقبل الليل" ، " إلى حسين مصري" ، "البرقية الأخيرة لـ نالي" ، "نامي حبيبتي".
