باحث وناقد أدبي ومترجم، أستاذ الأدب الحديث في جامعة اليرموك- الأردن، حصل على الدكتوراة من جامعة فريدريش فيلهلم- بون- ألمانيا عام 1986. وعمل أستاذاً زائراً في أكثر من جامعة أردنية وعربية.
أصدر عدداً من الدراسات من أبرزها: "الانتحار في الأدب العربي"، "باريس في الأدب العربي" و"دوائر المقارنة".وغيرها. كما أن له العديد من الكتب المترجمة عن الالمانية، نذكر منها: "يوميات فرانتس كافكا 1910-1923"، "آدم باحث وناقد أدبي ومترجم، أستاذ الأدب الحديث في جامعة اليرموك- الأردن، حصل على الدكتوراة من جامعة فريدريش فيلهلم- بون- ألمانيا عام 1986. وعمل أستاذاً زائراً في أكثر من جامعة أردنية وعربية.
أصدر عدداً من الدراسات من أبرزها: "الانتحار في الأدب العربي"، "باريس في الأدب العربي" و"دوائر المقارنة".وغيرها. كما أن له العديد من الكتب المترجمة عن الالمانية، نذكر منها: "يوميات فرانتس كافكا 1910-1923"، "آدم وإيفيلين" لإنجو شولتسه، و"أوروبا والشرق من منظور واحد من الليبراليين المصريين" لبوبر يوهانزن.
حائز على جائزة أفضل كتاب مترجم للعام الجامعي 2007 التي تمنحها جامعة فيلادلفيا الأردنية عن كتاب ما بعد اليوتوبيات.

اكتسب أحمد بن العباس بن راشد بن حمّاد البغدادي المعروف بابن فضلان - شهرته من خلال عضويته في الوفد الذي تمّ إرساله إلى ملك الصقالبة في الحادي عشر منصفر 309هـ.
إنّ هذه الرحلة تبيّن قوة الحضارة العربية الإسلامية، وقدرتها على الإستكشاف، وحرصها على الحوار مع الآخر، ولعلّ هذا هو ما يعطي لأدب الرحلات قيمة كبرى؛ فمن خلال تراكم هذه الرحلات يغدو في مقدور الباحثين أن يدرسوا كيفية تشكّل صورة أمّة في مرأة أمّة أخرى، وليس من الضروري أن تكون الصورة مطابقة للواقع، على الدوام؛ لأن الرحالة يتفاوتون فيالدقة والموضوعية والأهداف والمنظور، لكنّهم يرسمون صورة الأمة الاخرى، ويرسمون صورة أُمَّتهم في الوقت نفسه.
