لقد ضعفت دينامكية نظرية المثلث الإستراتيجي الأمريكي - السوفيتي - الصيني في فترة الحرب الباردة كمقاربة لتحليل السياسة الدولية ومعضلة الأمن، ولم يكن الأمن في الخليج العربي من بين قضايا العلاقات المثلثية.
وفي بيئة ما بعد الحرب الباردة بزغت علاقات مثلثية إستراتيجية جديدة لها دينامكية وخصائص.
وأصبح الخليج العربي معضلة أمن إقليمي ودولي تتأثي وتؤثر في العلاقات المثلثية من جهة، وفي العلاقات بين القوى الخليجية فيما بينها وما بينها وبين العلاقات المثلثية، من جهة أخرى.
علاقات مثلث لا تكون فيه الأضلع متساوية، ولا تكون فيه قوة ضلع محورية بصورة دائمة، بل تتناوب على الدور الأضلع الثلاثة حسب القضية، ولا تحافظ فيه الأضلع على مسافاتها فيما بينها في جميع القضايا.
الخليج العربي شبه الإقليم معضلة أمن لا نظير لها في أي إقليم آخر، معضلة أمن مركب، أمن فرد ومجتمع، امن دولة، امن نظام سياسي، أمن إقليمي، أمن دولي، أمن متداخل، امن ديناميكي.
وقد ترتب على المثلث الإستراتيجي الجديد شبكة علاقات مثلثات متحركة ذات صلة بالقضية والضلع.
ضلعان دوليان وضلع خليجي: على سبيل المثلا مثلث الولايات المتحدة وروسيا وإيران، والولايات المتحدة وروسيا والسعودية وهكذا
ضلعان خليجيان وضلع دولي على سبيل المثال مثلث إيران والسعودية والولايات المتحدة، وهما وروسيا، وهما والصين.
ضلعان خليجيان وضلع إقليمي: على سبيل المثال مثلث السعودية وقطر وتركيا، مثلث السعودية وإيران وتركيا، وهكذا
ضلع دولي وضلع خليجي وضلع إقليمي: على سبيل المثال مثلث الولايات المتحدة وإيران وإسرائيل وهكذا.
ثلاثة أضلاع خليجية: على سبيل المثال، السعودية وقطر وعمان، السعودية وقطر والكويت.
هذه مقدمة لدراسة نظرية وتحليلية للمثلث الإستراتيجي الأمريكي - الصيني - الروسي ومعضلة الأمن في الخليج العربي.
ويحدو بي الأمل ان تليها دراسات لنماذج من هذه المثلثات.
