فإن أصدق الحديث كتاب الله تعالى، وخير الهدي هدي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وشر الأمور محدثاتها، وكل محدثة بدعة، وكل بدعة ضلالة، وكل ضلالة في النار.
أما بعد: فهذا جزء حديثي كان في عداد التراث المفقود وهو "تحفة عيد الأضحى" لعالم محدِّث جليل عاش بين القرن الخامس والسادس الهجري (446- 533)، وهو الإمام الثقة الرِّحَّال الجوَّال مُحدِّث خراسان: زاهر بن طاهر بن محمد الشَّحَّامي النيسابوري المُسْتَملي.
أبدع مُصنِّفه في إنتقاء أحاديثه غايةً في الإتقان والعلو؛ فأسانيده بين السباعي والعشاري، ورتَّبها على الأبواب الفقهية وإن لم ينص فيه على تبويب؛ فبدأ: بفضل عشر ذي الحجة، ثم أحكام عشر ذي الحجة، ثم فرض الحج، ثم عرفة وما فيها من أحكام، ثم صلاة عيد الأضحى وما فيها من أحكام، ثم الأضحية وما فيها من أحكام، ثم حجة الوداع، ثم أيام التشريق وما فيها من أحكام، ثم عيد الأضحى والإشارة إلى بعض أحكامه وسننه، ثم الكلام على تفضيل الحج ماشياً، وختم الجزء بالحديث المسلسل في العيدين.
