صحفي مصري.شغل منصب نائب رئيس تحرير صحيفة الأهرام كما عمل صحافيا في صحيفة عراقية إبان حرب الخليج الثانية، و صحافيا لصحيفة العالم اليوم و له كتب مؤلفة و مترجمة[1].
اختفى في طروف غامضة يوم 11 أغسطس 2003، و بعد ذلك التاريخ بعامين أعلنت جماعة الجهاد الإسلامي مسؤوليتها عن اغتياله[2] إلا أن ذلك لم يتأكد، و لم تقدم أجهزة الأمن المصرية أية تفسيرات عن حادثة اختفائه، كما تتردد شائعات عن وجود دور ما لجهاز مخابراتي ما في اختفائه.[بحاجة لمصدر] و قد قام أحد الصحفيين بانشاء موقع لتتبع موضوع اختفاء رضا هلال و الموقع هو: http://www.redahelal.com و فى أوائل أغسطس من عام 2009 ثناثرت أنباء غير مؤكدة مصدرها لبعض الصحف المصرية[3] نقلا عن شقيق رضا هلال أنه مازال على قيد الحياة ولكنه قيد الحبس الإنفرادى في أحد سجون مدينة الإسكندرية الساحلية المصرية.
و لم يتسن بعد تأكد هذه الأخبار من نفيها[3].

يناقش العلاقة بين الجيش والسياسة فى تركيا، بالتركيز على الصراع بين المؤسسة العسكرية (الأتاتوركية العلمانية) والإسلام السياسى، فيرصد تطور تركيا كمجتمع عسكرى بتأثير التراث العثمانى، ودور الجيش فى إقامة تركيا الحديثة وإلغاء الخلافة الإسلامية على يد أتاتورك ثم دور الجيش بعد رحيله والتحول إلى التعدديه الحزبية وعودة الإسلام كبديل للمشروع الأتاتوركى وكذلك يتناول الإنقلابات العسكرية فى أعوام 1960 و 1971 و 1980 وصعود الإسلام السياسى ورمزه أربكان وحل حزب الرفاه الإسلامى، وتكورات المسألة الكردية، حتى ينتهى إلى أنه صراع مستمر على الهوية والمجتمع والدولة.
