التفاسير الإسلامية الأولي للقرآن الكريم، مصابيح، تنير لنا أول الطريق الحقيقي الذي سارت فيه خطوات علم التفسير القرآني، وتجلو لنا علاماته، وتحدد طوابعه، وتوضيح دروبه التي تشبعت عنه، كما تبين مصادره وبداياته التي انطلق منها.
وقتادة، هو ابن دعامة بن عزيز السدوسي البصري الأكمه الضرير، حافظ علامة ثقة، وتابعى جليل، ولد سنة 60 وتوفي سنة 117هـ، وقد كا مفسراً للكتاب، وله تفسير متقدم للقرآن الكريم، ليست بين أيدينا عنه سوى اشارات غامضة، فقد ضاع هذا التفسير كما ضاعت تفسيرات مبكرة كثيرة، وانمحى أول طريق التفسير القرآنى، وضلت خطوطه، وراحت معالمه واتجاهاتع الأساسية.
وأصبحت دراسة تفسير القرآن الكريم وتاريخ هذا التفسير، تقوم أساساً علي كتاب "جامع البيان عن تأويل القرأن" لأبي جعفر محمد بن جرير الطبري "224- 310هـ)، أى أنها كانت تنطلق منذ منتصف القرن الثاني الهجري، ولم تكن لدينا الفكرة الكافية والواضحة عن حياة التفسير واتجاهاته ومناهله وسماته وعلاماته قبل ذلك الحين، إذ أن غالبية التفاسير التي كانت قد ظهرت قبل الطبري، ضاعت في دوامة السنين.
علي أن رحمة الله سبحانه وتعالي قيضت لهذه الأمة الإسلامية رجالاً جهابذة حفظوا لنا في مؤلفاتهم العظيمة كثرة كثيرة من هذه الآثار التفسيرية التي فقدتها الأجيال، ومن أهم هذه الكتب الموسوعية تفسير الطبري وتفسير السيوطي (الدر المنثور) وتفسير ابن كثير وتفسير القرطبي، وغير ذلك، كما أن هناك أيضاً مجموعة كبيرة من الآثار التفسيرية القديمة في كتب السنة والحديث وفي كتب الرجال والطبقات والتراجم وما إلي ذلك.
وقد حاولت أن أجمع مادة تفسير قتادة من خلال هذه الكتب، وألم شتاتها المبعثرة، وأوثقها وأرتبها وأولف بينها، ثم أدرس في هذا النتاج: خصائصه ومنهجه، وأسانيده ومصادره، وقيمته وأثره في تاريخ التفسير، لأمهد بذلك الخطى الأولى لدراسة أسس علم التفسير القرآنى دراسة أصيلة قيمة، تضيف شيئاً نافعاً للتراث الإسلامي والحضارة الإنسانية، وقد استوى البحث قائماً علي قسمين رئيسين قسم: هو مادة تفسير قتادة نفسها، مجموعة من كتاب تفسير الطبري ومصنف عبد الرازق وموثقة ومحققة التحقيق العلمي السليم ومرتبة ومنظمة حسب آيات وسور القرآن الكريم، بقدر ما وسعنى الجهد، وقسم آخر: هو الدراسة التي أعددتها حول هذا التفسير.
