وسلاطين بني عثمان ليسوا برجال دولة فحسب؛ بل هم إلى جانب ذلك كله ذو اهتمامات أخرى، فكثير منهم يقرضون الشعر، وبعضهم له اهتمام بالموسيقى عزفًا وتأليفًا، وآخرون يحترفون حرفًا يلمون بها إلمام الخبراء، ويبدعون بها إبداعات شتى. وأغلبهم مهتمون بالخط العربي يكتبون به أجمل اللوحات ويشجعون عليه.
