يعد كتاب إحياء النحو لــ"إبراهيم مصطفى" من أهمّ الكتب التي صدرت في النصف الأول من القرن الماضي من حيث تأثيرها في الفكر اللساني العربي الحديث، وبخاصة قضية التركيب اللغوي النحوي، وتشكّل القاعدة النحوية القديمة، والدعوة إلى تعديل هذه القاعدة إنطلاقاً من النظرة إلى الحركات الإعرابية، فقد بحث فيه "إبراهيم مصطفى" عدداً من القضايا المهمة التي شكّلت منطلقات للنظرية النحوية العربية منذ نشأتها، كقضايا الإسناد والإضافة والمنصوبات.
لقد كان تأثير هذا الكتاب قد استمرّ مدّة طويلة في طرائق التفكير عند العلماء العرب الذين جاءوا بعده، لذلك بنى المؤلف دراسته على قضية المنصوبات من جهة نظر المؤلف وإمتدادات هذه القضية عند العلماء الذين جاءوا بعده، واختار لها عنوان "المنصوبات في النحو العربي".
وأمّا فصول الكتاب فقد جمع المؤلف ثلاثة فصول: تحدث في الفصل الأول عن المفاعيل المعروفة وهي (المفعول به والمفعول المطلق والمفعول معه والمفعول لأجله والمفعول فيه)، وأما الفصل الثاني فقد جعل بعنوان المحمول على المفعول به الذي يشتمل على الأبواب التالية: (المنادى والمتعجب منه والإغراء والتحذير والإختصاص والإشتغال).
وأمّا الفصل الثالث فقد جعل بعنوان المشبه بالمفعول باللفظ ويحتوي على: (الحال والتمييز واسم إنّ وخبر كان والمستثنى واسم لا النافية للجنس)، وأمّا الخاتمة فقد جعل لأبرز نتائج الدراسة، ثم أدرج بعد ذلك ثبتاً بمصادر الدراسة ومراجعها.
