أنا أحد شعراء هذه المرحلة وإذا كانت ثمة من مآخذ أو اتهامات او حتى إدانات يمكن أن توجه إلى شعراء الجيل الذي أنا منه، فالحق أنني أحد أولئك المدانين، إنني إنسان يتحرك راضيا أو مكرها، ضمن دوائر هذا الخراب الهائل الذي تعيشه أمتنا العربية، كنت أتصور منذ أكثرمن ربع قرن، وكنا ما نزال حينذاك، نحمل باقات الأحلام داخل أجفاننا، كنت أتصور ان من سوف يعيش تلك الرحلة إلى مسافات بعيدة منها، سوف يكون من حظه ، أن يرى وجها آخر مضيئا، من وجوه هذا العالم، كنت أتصور أن وقتا سوف يجيء وسوف نكون نحن بعض بناته، ضمن من سوف ينعمون ببعض الإنتصارات والأيام الحلوة فيه ولكن ها نحن ذا، حيث بدأن وكأن لم نخط خطوة واحدة إلى الأمام ... القيود في الأرجل والسلاسل في الشفاه... أقصد الحرية التى حلمنا بها، (نحن الشعراء) لم يتتجاوز طفولتها المضحكة.
