إن مما اختصت به هذه الأمة وتميزت عن سائر الأمم الإسناد، فالإسناد من الدين ولولا الإسناد لقال من شاء ما شاء، لذلك انبرى علماء هذه الأمة لتبليغ هذا الدين، وصونا له من التحريف والتبديل وضعوا قواعد وأصولا لنقل الأصل الثاني من أصوله إذ الأصل الأول قد تكفل الله تعالى بحفظه، وقيض رجالا جهابذة لحفظ الأصل الثاني وإن هذا الكتاب هو شرح لمنظومة في أصول هذا العلم أتى فيه الشارح على إيضاح مصطلحات هذا الفن في هذه المنظومة المشهورة بـ ((المنظومة البيقونية))، وهي من أبدع المختصرات التي صنفت في هذا العلم؛ لما اشتملت عليه من بديع اللفظ والنظم. وقد قام الشارح بتوضيح كلماتها، وبيان مراداتها، وإتمام مفاداتها، بأسلوب بديع، بعيد عن التكلف والتعقيد، مشتمل على جمع من الفوائد مكملاً مقاصدها، ومبسطاً غوامضها، ومقرباً ما نشر فيها. وقد سلك في هذا الشرح مسلكا فريدا؛ حيث عمد إلى بيان وشرح مصطلحات هذا الفن على طريقة التقسيم لكل نوع عن طريق الفوائد والتنبيهات والتتمات، مما يسهل مطالعته وتناوله لكل طالب وقاصد. ولم يخلُ شرحه هذا من النكات اللغوية والحديثية لما أوتي من قوة بيان في لغته العربية، فهو أديب ولغوي؛ مما يجعل كتابه هذا في طليعة شروح المنظومة البيقونية وقد قام المحقق بتقسيم عمله في تحقيقه إلى قسمين: قسم الدراسة: اشتمل على ترجمة شاملة للمؤلف؛ ودراسة الكتاب بذكر طريقة الشارح، ومزايا الشرح والمآخذ عليه، ومصادره، كما اشتمل على وصف النسخ الخطية. وقسم النص المحقق. ثم ختم عمله بإعداد فهارس علمية للكتاب تتميما للفائدة
